| The Zambezi
Society is attempting to save Zambezi Basin
Ecosystems and Wildernesses through good conservation practices based on sound
technical information. The basin has some of Africa's finest National Parks,
and many valuable species, ecosystems and wilderness areas still survive
outside these parks as well. Threats include unplanned human settlement,
hydroelectric projects, minerals exploitation and ill-advised tourism
development. |

The
David Shepherd Wildlife
Foundation aims to save the African Painted Dog and other wildlife in the
region, benefit the local people and raise awareness for wildlife and the
environment. Grants are allocated for anti-poaching operations, monitoring and
tracking known packs of dogs, relocation of problem animals, local awareness
and education campaign and community work to directly benefit the rural
people. |
