The cross cast a shadow across the world
Darkness, despair around hearts curled.
Agony-haunted, remorse, regret
A bleakness no-one will ever forget.
Yet a concept of life and death were born
A wonder dawned bright on Easter morn
A wonder that lifted hearts and a stone
Immorality bloomed from a foul deed done.
Your sacrifice Lord is beyond our vision
Your love, Your compassion, Your intercession.
Help us to show You again and again
That Your agony, tears, were not in vain.
You gave us hope and life and love
You sacrificed for us to prove
You gave us a chance to be reborn
On a glorious Easter morn.
